Marin Women's Hall of Fame

"Power UP...for Unlimited Potential" was the theme and motivator as women, men and teen boys gathered to explore options, opportunities and what needs to be in place in order to succeed.  With a focus on values becoming strengths and strengths becoming guidelines and guidelines becoming 'the tracks' you lay towards a purposeful life...the program began with a welcome from the Executive Director, Noreen O'Neill and Honoree and Board President: Dr. Shirley Thornton, Ed.D.

Highly acclaimed filmmaker George Lucas sent a video welcome message and his trailer for newest release: Red Tails.  Emcee: Honoree and Emmy Award winning TV journalist, Cheryl Jennings led the first session on active listening and the power of relationships.

Keynote Speaker: Kim Kaselionis, CEO/President of Circle Bank stressed the importance of Financial Literacy.  Academy Award and Emmy Award nominated documentary filmmaker spoke about following your dreams and showed the trailer for "Journey From Zanskar".

After lunch, there was a mini-SWOT session and then Dr. Mark Schillinger, D.C., spoke about the right way to lead your life.  Throughout the day there were dyads and on MIC communications from both teens and mentors.  The workbook enabled the mentors and mentees to express their thoughts and captured their responses to the sessions.

It was a dynamic day with a multi-curtural and intergenerational audience...making us keenly aware that the future DOES belong to the next generation leaders!

This conference is the beginning of a 4 part program that includes 3 follow up sessions.

MENTORS gifted this day to the students which included covering all expenses for both...2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, materials, a goody bag AND an unforgettable day with community leaders, Hall of Fame Honorees, Co-Chairs and speakers!
